Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law
This lecture now an essay must be strictly avoided by any manic depressive who will most assuredly commit suicide or worse, go on living to the determent of everyone around them. For I shall before your very eyes explain that horrid query, “What is really worth it?”. After all, you are observing a human being telling you this whose Great Awakenings have been more than sufficient to tell you when the True Will is realized it really, really does become worth it. To know that it is worth it are many of the issues of self esteem where you realize your True Self and True Will.
If your “True Self” is speaking, most certainly you shall stand apart from those whose obsessions on what a human being should be comparatively noting any number of obsessions that dominate those whose humanity has been compromised. Those whose humanity has truly been compromised aren’t always at fault; and sometimes it is some dogma or political ideology where society has shamed itself by its treatment of what they think they think you should think. Those who pick door number 93; and the right pill might have chance to leave their living hell behind but sometimes they have wandered too far into the darkness to find themselves back into the light of their True Self reality.
What is really worth it? I really must emphasize that if you ask the rascal next store he will immediately rattle on how gaining fortune, gaining fame, or gaining a good education are going to make it worth it. Well, this may be some icing on the cake of nearly everyone’s reality but what really gives you the satisfaction of existence being joy? Of course, a millionaire sometimes will assume no happiness can exist for those of a low income, the actress no matter how famous can be a drug addict, the Professor at Tulane University in spite of his status as a member of academic community might be going home to a nagging wife; and any number of those occupied with any number occupations who have not realized their True Self might be living miserable lives. Of course we can quote any number of those famous writers who had wisdom but this does not mean we adhere to the overall consensus of their soapbox. Most certainly, “existence is pure joy” as a scientific statement for the True Self and True Will is shown by example to be consistent with a very real Path. It is part of existence to feel good about eating good food, enjoying love under will with the mistress, and even eliminating toxins feels good. What of the glory of poetry as a part of “existence is pure joy”. For many, Joyce Kilmer might be some nobody from New Jersey but he did, in my observation, write the two most incredible lines in the history of poetic literature.
So, existence is pure joy moves toward the very science of survival extending to infinite reach of how we, as human beings, are able to perceive the joy of poetry.
Without a doubt I am clearly on the side of those who would use the epigraph to show parallels of insight from any number of writers. Most certainly, the fellow in London as a graduate from one of the better universities might quote the very real genius of William Shakespeare or the in Dublin we might have an Irish person quoting the sublime words of William Butler Yeats. I shall not deny such writers their great genius nor deny how they would use them as an epigraph but I being something of a controversial mystic to put it mildly I shall quote authors from the occultists like Aleister Crowley and Éliphas Lévi. I especially like those ancient writings of occultism, the incredibly interesting perspective of those who study the kabbalah; and those writers in ancient Rome and Greece have some quotes that make excellent epigraphs. Indeed, it might deprive me of social acceptance to the mansion party to quote such controversial figures as Edgar Allan Poe or Doctor John Dee but a fellow like myself does not frequent those circles anymore where such academic indoctrinations have compromised me to the level of philosopher. My pride with myself on attempting to find those parallels that are consistent with my immediate demeanor where my lens shall be absolutely pragmatic with volition has been a touch controversial but I can’t help it if being is baffling, doing is desperate, and I prefer human writers over the dull and tedious rigmarole of AI dissertation.
Although I am not at war with the intelligent machines nor would I bother anyone who is involved with its present fashions I do honor those writers who do not use it; and most certainly any organization that has within its body professional writers will nod in the affirmative knowing that some of them can no longer make a living as professional writers; and even engage in protest to the horrors of their creativity being passed up by machines. Well, I am a human being; and I shall let that younger generation learn for itself any consequences of AI. I cannot state for sure what is over reaction; but for myself I shall never, never use AI to create my essay. Nor shall I ever create a video. For myself, it isn’t a matter of actually rejecting the technology where I have no objections to others using it but I would adhere to those skills of paragraphs that have developed over time not to deteriorate.
I do enjoy ancient literature and especially occult and magical manuscripts. Years and years ago I began my studies of ancient Middle Egyptian using Egyptian Grammar by Sir Alan Gardiner not to become an archaeologist but to engage in a private study of ancient Egypt. My aspiration was, of course, to observe the secrets of magic in ancient Egypt to see what I could learn to attain whatever magical powers were in fashion in those ancient times. I translated Stele, went over the spells of the Book of the Dead as part of my pursuit and much more. I went so far as to gain those masterpieces of magic which are even today in printed form called the Greater and Lesser Keys of Solomon and other ancient manuscripts. Parallel to this I studied intensely Aleister Crowley whose advice on the Path of the Great Work had a depth that was consistent with the type of occult literature that brought ancient magick to the nineteen century e.v.; and even today is recommended as the best occult literature that presently exists.
Clearly, any aspiration to become a famous writer shall occur with less likelihood these days when wonderful creative writers were banging endlessly at the typewriter like Issac Asimov who remains my favorite science fiction writer. Yet, when I write I write what I write without the AI and I am a human being who would try to express myself to others knowing what the world might become with skills gone or asleep that were once essential I shall move forth at the pace of a mere human being.
For those who would balance theory with practice I write this that even today reading over Liber Aleph or Liber 418 I am inspired by the incredible levels of insight and creativity that exists within its multitude of abstractions. So, above all others, even today, I follow the System as presented by Aleister Crowley and recommend him publicly to anyone as essential to possess everything written by him; and only then purchase volumes what is written about him. I recommend this over those who have not begun their studies with the writings that were written by Aleister Crowley but about Aleister Crowley where they can at least begin developing their own perspective. You’ll develop quite a library just from this advice; and of course the novice often times permits sensationalism to dictate the books they purchase rather than plan some manner of systematic study of its literature. Writing down a list of books that will be more ordered is easy; and the development of the private library I have always considered serious business.
So the question “What is really worth it?” is a tough nut to crack until you have grasped the impact of the unfolding of the True Self where you as a star upon your course on your Path realize your True Will as you move forth with that self esteem where everything you do is worth it.
Love is the law, love under will
