Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law
What I am about to expound might seem baffling, bewildering or surprising to those who have made magick from their lecture a commercial enterprise. Karl Germer brought up this issue with my Instructor back in 1953 e.v. where he was referring to the new Rosicrucian outfits but here we are years later observing this issue again with so many others. The problem where the A∴A∴ forbids taking money; and the O.T.O. which encourages material growth means being affiliated with both is supposed bring the issue to a successful balance doesn’t always pan out. It is character that determines whether honor dies where interest lies or honor lives as character gives, after all, and I do realize that those who remain “ A∴A∴ only” have to adhere to a strict discipline with regards to separating the planes. Yes, I will cut contact with you if you do not comply as an A∴A∴ aspirant and take money where you have brandished the bad odor of a violation of our Manifesto. So, this lecture about wealth and character is a long time coming being important to view with clarity.
Shall we look into this penetrating issue of wealth? After all, we cannot help but admire the person who works their way up from near poverty to financial stability. Without a doubt they, and especially inherited money overlooks the concept of character which can build wealth at will where the so called financial genius gained what they gained through a series of struggled steps where in the aftermath of the financial success have grown soft or even overly compassionate through weakness of character. Am I then stating I admire character over wealth? My answer is that from the perspective and judgment of an Instructor I must observe caution on whether the initiate can achieve what they achieve in parallel of success to the Plane of Disks to the Supernal Manifestations based on each individual’s merit. Years ago, I knew a fellow aspirant who I enjoyed his conversation and felt true fraternity with simply as a consequence of he being a young, struggling aspirant in those reckless, roaring twenties as myself who I knew nothing more about than the normal exchanges. Well, I liked that time when I did not know he would eventually inherit a fortune; and when he did inherit the fortune I was careful with him not to ruin our fraternity. I liked him for what he was and I knew he would never truly believe that this was so. After all, the gold that lined his pockets did not alter my observation of him; and whatever character he possessed he gained from prior to his inheritance; or so it seemed to be back then. What astounded me was how my Instructor reacted to his inheritance where he stated he had never been an admirer of money but admired character. I have met a sufficient amount of deep south old money in my past to know just how it would turn out but I was told long ago never to show your cards; and to be careful of what we now call road rage from those of lesser intellect. Basically, you can get yourself seriously injured or even killed if you make it obvious with mockery or sarcasm that the person has lower intelligence. Bide your time and let the opponent or rival kill themselves with their own stupidity; and when the right moment arrives take over without a hostile takeover; or any of the naive knowing what has suddenly hit them. We call this battle of conquest “Lurk”, and when you withdraw they never know when you proceed upon them where you arise in triumph over everything. This, in the aftermath is either viewed as savagery or if you really aren’t paying attention just dumb luck. A moron might remark that I was in good standing with my Superior at the time of his death by “dumb luck”. None of these critics know that I was showing discipline where others had ego issues where they could not survive. If a bus driver screams at you to get back to the yellow line how do you react? Do you scream back or show character and discipline moving back to the yellow line stating, “yes sir”. If the janitor in the public restroom tells you to use another toilet which he intends to clean do you make a fuss insulting him or quietly move away from his work area? If your Immediate Superior in the Order gives you a Holy Task how do you react? With character or behave with the retort, “I’ve got things to do making an excuse”. ?
If you are so smart why aren’t you rich is answered if you are so rich why aren’t you smart. All these ideas have to be brought to your attention for ONE STAR IN SIGHT forbids us to take money where in the O.T.O. we are encouraged to develop on the Plane of Disks. This means that an A∴A∴ aspirant can be expelled for a Tarot Reading or taking money but if they are both A∴A∴ and O.T.O. taking money simply means they take it in the name of the O.T.O..
With regards to those who lecture magick for money without being affiliated with the Order or being affiliated with the Order I do not immediately condemn them for their actions or behavior. Some shall have something to offer; and some are taking you to the bank.
We cannot mix the planes where we make enemies unnecessarily. Just remember that if you get in touch with us with the will to join us you might very well be surprised on what you learn. Indeed, some will experience rude awakenings while others will finally realize that their character will be observed above mere wealth.
Why yes. Isn't it about time you showed some character; and sent me a donation?
Love is the law, love under will
