The Wand of Three Circles

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law

The “ancient one” of the old Aeon has fallen; and the Hierophant of the New Aeon has held up the Wand of Three Circles with His suspicious smile where His proclamation of the Three Circles of the Supernal insists that “existence is pure joy”. How is it we cannot see with clarity what this mysterious smile is all about? He isn’t behaving like the Eastern Guru from India or the Church Priest? You state He is not acting like a “grown up”; and shall not be expounding a life of disease or an old Aeon Hermit’s concept of solitude would be more appropriate? After all, aren’t the Hermits supposed to be in the forest and the mountains? How can an elder Thelemite be instructing the young toward a eventful path where the initiations can truly occur when he is obviously too old now to teach anyone, anything? Our Elders are simply not behaving themselves, are they? At least not from the old Aeon opinion on the subject of True Self where the old Aeon Masters have permitted it all to be confirmed by their observations of pain and suffering.

It should not be too far to travel the concept of True Self, realized or unfolded, observing root cause and effect. From there we move to root consequences. After all, Our objections to any Path which excludes “existence is pure joy” leads us to how such a deterioration of spiritual enlightenment or even religion would permit such an outrage and contradiction where the New Aeon would so severely correct and create an inevitability where such Change would create a new civilization.

Shall we observe the “stable boy” who was hired by the rancher who completed his task to feed and water the horses has taken his pleasure with the rancher’s daughters who are not so “stable” as to ignore their desire for passion? After all, isn’t youthful adventure to outweigh all the set rules of the rancher who yet observes his daughters more on the social status of the rich cowboy down the road who has land and many cattle?

What seems to make perfect sense to the frisky and vigorous young aspirant might for the aged who has known pain or disease whose years of meditations seem to confirm the old Aeon Hermit. After all, observing the root cause of a path of spiritual enlightenment which was created by so-called aged mystics or some religion that has arisen that involves self sacrifice or genuflect we observe the same pattern. This pattern where an entire spiritual path involves what they name “noble truth” or “existence is sorrow” or “genuflect to a Messiah who has been crucified has the same effect on the aspirant or worshiper. If the pain of division is as nothing and the joy of dissolution all this means the joy outweighs the pain which makes more sense than involving the pain or disease of the “old man of wisdom” to include in his teachings that existence is sorrow.

You’ll observe this stain of old Aeon dis-ease in all of its dogma. We have the Roman Catholics whose vows of chastity are out of touch with the reality of spiritual growth, we have the Buddhist whose idea of the Master is an old fat person who rarely leaves the Monastery to assist anyone outside their restricted box, we have any number of branches of Monotheism that tell you to give your prayers in the form of the genuflect attitude of bending the knee where they being poor, humble mortals must decide on heaven or hell. Again, their Path of spiritual enlightenment is set in stone where it does not evolve. The concept of the “method of science with the aim of religion” mean growth while they continue on the path of deterioration not taking in consideration anything that might improve their system. Six thousand years of Yoga in India? Well, look at India and ponder how their civilization only advanced where western influence and science has changed it and not their centuries of meditation where mystic beggars, caste system and pollution have not been altered or dealt with. Or what of the Church Priest who after sixteen hundred years has constant child abuse; and spiritual suicide where to this day refuse to acknowledge the Priestess and instead have something as grotesque as something called a Roman Catholic Nun with disgusting vows of chastity?

Well, we observe in this meditation from the perspective of how it is for an old person to ponder what is good for the young which, of course, explains the juvenile delinquent and the Church Priest (peculiar similarities upon observation) who tells you to get on your knees and pray for salvation. After all, the automatic rebellion of a young person who finds restriction everywhere is going to move enthusiastically toward the youthful vigor of the adventure where he or she might exclaim in frustration, “was the law made for humanity, or humanity made for the law?” where a blank stare instead of an explanation is the only answer from the judge who might decide such a concept means contempt of court. The Church Priest will see the young person; and wonder how to push them to a Path of their teachings wondering how they are turning out evil from their perspective never taking in consideration what their motivations are; and why they are behaving the way they are behaving and more times than we dare to speculate are criminalized for youthful enjoyment. After all, should they not be in compliance with law and dogma obeying whatever commandments they can convince them to obey? Criminalize everything; and if they enjoy freedom tell them they are Satanists? This will never do! After all, they were brought up with their family religion and how unthinkable it is for them to deviate from a protocol where spiritual freedom might mean they are free to do their will? The Church Priest or Buddhist Monk or Hindoo Guru from India teach something similar in the form of dogma where their idea of good is restriction; and their overall concept is either self sacrifice or sorrow. After all, they are supposed to be old and wise; and what does the young aspirant with no experience know about life? Liber Aleph teaches us that there are the bonds of slavery and there are the bonds of freedom. How could such an outrageous idea that includes both wisdom and folly have bearing from their perspective?

A loyal student whose age I shall not state informed me that concentration is compromised by his medical condition. After all, how could anyone whose disease of bio system has compromised his youthful vigor have such a perception of “existence is pure joy”. Liber Aleph studied by Thelemites with glorious insights shall in turn horrify the old Aeon Mystic whose dogma is carved in stone tablets and read with brainless owl eyes of emptiness pages of endless rationalizations in contradiction to True Will. Liber Aleph is absolutely not recommended for the idle and the stupid who will never understand its superior insights. Liber Aleph rivals and exceeds all their petty notions of what a father shall teach his son.

The ordeals have outweighed the adventures of life after a long time where they ponder how the young could be so rebellious or even too naive to have anything in the way of example to share. Moreover, the elder Thelemite is not behaving like the old Aeon Guru who tries to criticize the behavior of his or her sincere attempt to unfold.

No doubt, by the time after so many years they have learned concentration as automatic consciousness they are able to give what appears on the surface to be “supernal insight”. Of course, in the case of the Tao and the Buddhist they really do have “supernal insight” in spite of their decaying or diseased bodies which leads you to the conclusion that in the Supernal all Masters have reached the same goal no matter if they are old Aeon or new Aeon. Of course, the Law of Θελημα insists that “existence is pure joy” no matter how old you are which does upset the opposition. After all, they have the idea that does not include the inner “crowned and conquering child” where they consider the inner “old person of wisdom” to be how they would have you to be.

Try telling in your youth someone older who is supposed to be wiser that your random whim of experience outweighs all philosophy, religion, common law and politics and watch dismay or worry cross over their face when they realize that they must most assuredly lecture you on how you should live your life. The elder does not observe this fellow who is too young to know any better to behave the way he behaves absolutely forgetting he was young once; and grew out of his alleged immaturity to comply with the commonweal. Well, the elder Thelemite simply isn’t going to pass on what the old Aeon teacher insists is "proper behavior". If anything, the inner “crowned and conquering child” means an entire new line of advice where he or she is encouraged to unfold the True Self and learn the Path of his particular True Will. Most certainly, who is presenting better advice to the bewildered young aspirant who is observing restriction of his growth stifled by a list of stupid rules of dogma that contradict his every attempt to experience and find existence is pure joy. If anything, his advice moves he or she further away from said dogma where he ponders joining others who would agree that his youthful vigor has to have a byway. Naturally, the symbolism of the Three Circles does represent Three Aeons but more than one lesson is to learnt from its magick. In addition the lesson of the Supernal for this Aeon; and errors of the old Aeon are written in essence from proper meditation.
Wait, there is more!!
Continue the meditation and observe the Robe of the Hierophant. For Thelemites the symbolism of the “dancing male child” is shown to be embroidered upon the center of the garment which makes perfect sense. For the symbolism of the inner child means an immortality of spirit of a life of joy that cannot exist for those who have not partaken of Its essence. You can be assured that the symbol of the “old man of wisdom” is in contradiction to everything that will persist into old age for Us as “the crowned and conquering child.”

I do realize the reaction to the Hierophant Card where it might be seen as all Bull from its Taurus attribution yet I think I’ve hit some of the main insights on the Nail corresponding to the letter Vau.

Love is the law, love under will
