Everyone is instructed the same; yet different as a consequence of each star with any number of backgrounds, adventures, ordeals, complexes, or education you’ll find as you instruct different aspirants the mystical conversation shall take unexpected directions. Although the preliminary Oath and Task is the same for everyone, everyone will have different strengths and some compromises. As your Instructor I shall observe you as the only student in the classroom and this is vital for you cannot compare yourself with others where it might very well be that you display exemplary talents with astral travel but will need some work with Yoga. Then there is the aspirant who has an IQ above average but does not reach Mensa level. Or the artist who does oil painting like a master but has issues with the scales of the Slide Rule where math seems a waste of time. You have the rural aspirant, the city aspirant, the computer worker, the warehouse worker and the chef all absolutely unique and to be respected for stars upon their path to a Great Work. The concept of the “True Self” and its unfolding is the common factor where the nature and powers of your being will be an important idea to get firmly in your mind as a very real priority.
Although this lecture is something of an recapitulation of those preliminary points of reference that are to be emphasized as important I’ll go over it again. The Period of Speech for A∴A∴ has now entered Speech after five years of Silence and since April an unexpected number of new aspirants eager to sign the first Oath and Task have motivated me to run through some pertinent goals that are standard for those about to sign the Oath and Task of Probationer. As a side remark to the large number of new aspirants I can always assign from the Hierarchy a Neophyte or above to new aspirants if the number becomes a strain. Yet, whomever instructs you from our Lineage be assured that what I shall now impart shall be priority.
What do I mean when I tell a student that I want them to be stronger than they ever were? We are now entering the realm of the unfolding of the True Self which shall determine your True will which will determine your Great Work which will awaken your Path consistent with your True Will.
No one ever told you it would be easy; and some have a rough time of it while others know precisely what I mean by stronger. You should be able to see a man beheaded by a savage and not feel fear and with open eyes react how you should react depending on whether you are next. You should be able to observe a sister who has slept with one hundred men last month as a normal freethinker where she has discarded the indoctrination of chastity of dogma; and has decided to work her way toward the path of “love under will”. No doubt, the demonic forces of jealousy can be something a dark ordeal where we have a tendency to psychological project any number of rationalizations depending on your universe of discourse. After leaving an affair behind how bad is it for you? Can you saddle and ride the horse directly thereafter or are you lost in bewilderment that she has gone away and how could you ever love another? Such common reactions as excessive mourning for someone who has died that you knew well; or the shock of a lover leaving you for another should be a thing of the past with regards to how you react. Your True Self unfolded you will be able to view the situation from near and afar with the same reaction. That this is but an adventure and experience that shall assist your self awareness of your path as an initiate.
You should be able to think back to what was once the most horrible error of your life noting that the incident was simply a learning experience where there is no grace nor guilt. You should in your magical record show “the method of science with the aim of religion” where you are fully involved with scientific illuminism. You should observe lecture; and know whether truth or showmanship is being expounded and whether that lecturer has a basis on experience or is a mere occult scholar pissing sensationalism.
Be warned and advised that we are not encouraging the deletion of any functions that are within your being that we name primal instinct. To delete such functions; and it can be done you dance with ego gratifications hiding your complexes rather than permit your True Self to dictate your True Will.
You weren’t brought up to function like a free human being? So, this is nothing new here. Nearly every new student has to face the type of restrictions that dogma impose upon your creative faculties; and mother and father can be public enemy number one when they give you advice based on the thoughts of orthodox or dogma protocol. We have brand new issues with those enslaved by the computers but the process of awakening their sleeping or dormant humanity to them is expressed in our Class D Documents. We have already have solutions to these problems. You absolutely should read the Oath and Task of Probationer prior to our correspondence for the important process of observing the nature and powers of your being are extremely important to concentrate on. At first glance of the first Oath and Task it does seem to be a simple process easily resolved where the naive do not observe how it shall be like a baseball bat striking a hornets nest. I should state that the knowledge and conversation of the A∴A∴ isn’t the same as the vision of the HGA in Malkuth which should not be confused with what shall occur with the Knowledge and Conversation in Tiphareth. Yet the knowledge and conversation of the A∴A∴ in Tiphareth for Adept Minor without is isn’t the same as Adept Minor within and the HGA is absolutely not your “higher self”. In fact “higher self” is not encouraged where “True Self” has no negative connotations.
Without a doubt those who knew you in your past will note your change and wonder how you get away with what you've become. It hasn’t occurred to them that they have been left behind to wander the valley of their self enslavement where they, all too often, are a tool to others.
You might even wonder how those in your past that knew you can live with what they are where they have no control over the planes of existence; and all they have is their meager fortunes, for you have awakened the wealth within. Truly, you have become an initiate; and from their perspective you have entered the shadow path of callous endeavor.
The concept of unfolding yourself where you have scientifically studied what to do with regards to your particulars to arise with pragmatic applications to the nature of powers of your being make you not something different from what you were but what and who you really are for the first time.
